The Hotel Torciano Vecchio Asilo is a historic residence dating back to 1200, with a beautiful view of the hills and very close to the medieval town of San Gimignano, which you can reach in just 5 minutes by car. The Tenuta Torciano winery is 1 km from the hotel and can also be reached on foot.

Visit of the Tenuta Torciano vineyards

The visit allows an in-depth study of the reality of the Estate's vineyards from the point of view of the territory to which they belong and from the enological point of view. Interesting is the landscape and architectural context, the barrel cellar and the tasting rooms both internal and external directly on the garden. In particular, it will be possible to appreciate the ancient Vernaccia di San Gimignano vineyard, planted in 1996, from which the wine of the same name originates. Also not to be missed is a visit to the Sangiovese vineyard, located in our "circular vineyard". This spiral vineyard is capable of combining production with aesthetics and tradition.

The visit will take place with a trained guide who will tell you the story of the Tenuta Torciano farm and the current production line. The visit is organized over a period of 1.5 / 2 hours in which you will have the opportunity to taste wines from our production during lunch. The visit is aimed at both an audience of wine enthusiasts and people who wish to have a first experience of wine culture together with our expert guide of the territory, of vine cultivation techniques from planting to harvest.

Lunch and Wine and Oil Tasting

This experience is a must for Tuscan wine enthusiasts interested in learning more about the territory and history of this magnificent region. Inside one of the wonderful rooms with barrels you can enjoy a typical 4-course lunch. Starting with cured meats, artisan cheeses and our typical bruschetta with cold-pressed olive oil, the tasty dishes of the Tuscan tradition will follow, prepared with local products and vegetables from the garden. You can enjoy a unique experience in the atmosphere of the barrel cellar and all courses will be accompanied by the tasting of our wines, from Vernaccia di San Gimignano to Chianti, from Chianti Classico to Brunello di Montalcino. Our expert wine connoisseur will guide you with sympathy and attention: you will learn the wine production process, the etiquette of the glass and the technical notions on organoleptic, olfactory and sensorial characteristics.
