Wine Description:

This classic Chianti from Tuscany is made from a selection of handpicked Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes, and vinified in our cellar. The color is deep ruby red with intense, fruity aromas.

The taste is well structured, fresh and balanced. Its characteristic Sangiovese profile of bright red berries have wonderfully integrated acidity and freshness on the palate. Beautiful vanilla touches give length to the wine.

Ideal with traditional first courses, cured meats, red and white meats and medium/mature cheeses.

Wine Cellar:

Tenuta Torciano Winery is located in the heart of Tuscany, 35 minutes from Florence and 20 minutes from Siena. It is surrounded by beautiful hills and a succession of unique vegetation which features towering cypresses, long stretches of beautiful vineyards, olive groves, oak woods and enchanting villages.

When you visit Tenuta Torciano Winery, you will be totally immersed in Italian culture, and welcomed by a Tuscan family that has been making wine for over 300 years. Here you will experience warm hospitality and Tuscan traditions that have been handed down for 13 generations.

Area of Production:

One of the first wine regions anywhere to be officially recognized and delimited, Chianti Classico is today what was originally defined simply as Chianti.

Already identified by the early 18th century as a superior zone, the official name of Chianti was proclaimed upon the area surrounding the townships of Castellina, Radda and Gaiole, just north of Siena, by Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany in an official decree in 1716.

Grapes:

The Chianti Blend is a classic, long-established blend of wine grapes used in the wines of Tuscany, most obviously those from Chianti. The blend’s primary constituent is Tuscany's favorite grape variety, Sangiovese.

This is accompanied by small quantities of lesser-known Tuscan grape varieties Canaiolo, Colorino, Ciliegiolo and Mammolo.
