Wine Description:

Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese 2011
The sun-filled, early-maturing 2011 vintage perfectly expresses the qualities of Trecento . The wine appears an intense, youthful fruit that is fully ripe yet at the same time crisp and lively, backgrounded by delicate nuances of balsam and toastiness. On the palate, the powerful concentration immediately impresses, as do the tannins, massive yet silksmooth and glossy, which allows the wine to completely fill the mouth but with no feeling of heaviness. The finish, near endless, is deliciously pungent and spicy, with a welcome crispness throughout.

The Sangiovese, from the Latin "Sangius jovis", is the predominant grape-variety in this wine and the calm, elegant characteristics of the Cabernet give this wine ample olfactory complexity and greater strength to both body and flavor. Bright and intense ruby red color. Enveloping, elegant, classic perfumes with fruity and balsamic notes that duet each other in a delicious organoleptic balance. Taste of extraordinary class, intact, with fine and velvety tannins. Very long finish.

The prime quality and structure of this wine demand excellent first courses and risottos with sauces made from wild boar and hare, tasty red meat dishes such as roast game, vegetable soufflé and spicy mature cheeses.

Area of Production:

Located in central Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast, Tuscany is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions. Toscana IGT is the most famous – and the most commonly used – of Italy's Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) titles. The geographical region it indicates is, in short, Tuscany.

Toscana IGT wines can be made in any village in any of Tuscany's 10 provinces.

Grapes:

Cabernet – Sangiovese blended wines are one of the success stories of 20th-Century Italian winemaking. 300 Years Anniversary of Tenuta Torciano, 1720-2020

Tenuta Torciano Winery includes fiftheen generations of winemakers who have been able to give life to high quality wines, where the knowledge of traditional methods is combined with modern technologies. The art of wine making is something that has been handed down from father to son, for the last 300 years, starting from 1720, an important heritage that today represents the secret of our success.

The Giachi family has been engaged in the production of wine for hundreds of years, since 1720. Bartolomeo Giachi, from Florence, settled in the territory of San Gimignano, everywhere known as a land of high-quality grapes. Throughout this period the family has personally managed the business with courageous and very often innovative decisions, always maintaining a fundamental respect for tradition and for the natural habitat. The company goal has always been to investe in wine-growing land to improve the quality of wine production both in Italy and abroad. In 2002 to continue the family tradition, they took the ownership of the ancient Chigi Tower, one of the fourteen historical towers still left in San Gimignano. This tower features a complex medieval history and a private collection of historical documents about the Vernaccia white grapes, cultivated in our estate.

Pierluigi Giachi is at the same time owner and winemaker of Tenuta Torciano and carries on the centuries-old tradition together with his wife Luciana and and their children Emanuele and Vittoria. Tradition, passion, instinct and love are the guiding principles that have lead the management of the company by the Giachi family, who in 2020 will celebrate its 300 years of activity, during which the art of making wine has always been handed down from father to son.
