Extreme Weather
Weather conditions (whether it is extreme heat or freezing temperatures) create challenges for shipping wine.
When temperatures while in transit could adversely affect your wine order, Tenuta Torciano will suggest several weather safe options for you. Primarily, in extreme cold or heat, we recommend the following options:
- Choose Next Day Air and a business address or FedEx Store for fast delivery and ensured signature. Shipping Next day Air will reduce the time in transit. Select this shipping option and also use the shipping calendar to select a date when someone will be there to sign for the package on the first attempt. Business addresses and FedEx store locations are also good options in these cases since there is someone there to sign for deliveries.
- Next Day Air does have an increased cost, but this is the best way to get it there quickly and on a pre-planned date. Choose the Hold Until Safe and we will ship it once weather conditions are suitable. In this case, we will watch the weather closely and will remove the hold and ship your order as soon as conditions permit. The release dates will vary, and because there is no specified date for delivery, the warehouses will ship it as weather permits. If the Hold Until Safe option is released and your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping notice with the tracking number link.
